Brain Dead

Those of you who know me really well, know that I seldom go very far without my laptop. I frequently refer to it as my brain. Well, my poor little brain has decided it no longer wants to charge and it has left me essentially brain dead. I am hoping to have things up and running soon.....I need my laptop! I really like to have a picture with my posts, but now I really have nothing accessible. There will probably be very little blogging done until I get my brain back. This will teach me to live a virtually paperless life with EVERYTHING (and I do mean everything) stored in one place!

In a quick slightly Twilight related mention. Stephenie Meyer's first non Twilight book, The Host, was released a couple of days ago. It isn't YA like the Twilight Saga, and I think her writing has really come a long way (yes, even me the rabid Twilight fan can understand some of the criticism. The captivation story over came the writing flaws for me). Recommending books is always a gamble, but I loved this book.......I couldn't put it down. It is a love story with a sci fi spin (I am not usually a sci fi fan) Oddly enough, it was a deeply human story even though the main character was an alien. I might even like this one better than Twilight. I am not sure yet. I inhaled the book and am hoping she continues on this story. Anyway, if you were on the fence about checking out The Host, just take the plunge. I don't think you will regret it.

Yours is the first review of The Host that I've read--thank you! I am excited to read it (and like you, generally not a sci-fi fan, although of late I've been enjoying quite a few sci-fi tv shows) but I've been waiting for a personal recommendation before I spend money on it :).

Oh, I can't wait to read it. Only 2 weeks left of school and then I can read it. I should have a count down on my website for days left of school. lol
